East Rock was founded by an ex-Yale postdoc and Y50K Entrepreneurship Competition winner who came out of academic research convinced that the most useful thing PhD-grade engineering could do was ship production software, not write papers. For two decades, the team has been guiding companies through periods of rapid technology change — from the mobile and cloud transitions to today’s shift to agentic AI.

Steve, a PhD robotics engineer and former Yale researcher, founded East Rock Software in 2012. He leads AI strategy and client engagements, drawing on deep agentic AI expertise and 20+ years of guiding companies through technology transitions.
